The indicated types of coke ovens of battery can be:
| | with combined heating (with coke oven gas and blast furnace gas); |
| | with heating either with coke oven gas or blast furnace gas; |
| | with underjet or side supply of coke oven gas. |
New technical concepts implemented in the designs of Giprokoks during the past period:
| | coke oven battery with the capacity of 1000 thous. tons of coke per year with the technology of stamped coal blend carbonization in combination with Coke Dry Cooling Plant (for the first time in the world practice) was commissioned on 13.08.2006; |
| | coke oven battery with the capacity of 1140 thous. tons of coke per year with 51,0 m3 ovens, with 480 mm width carbonization chambers (7,0m height, 16,82 m length), underjet type of heating gas supply and adjustment was commissioned on 11.10.2006; |
| | coke oven battery with the capacity of 850 thous. tons of coke per year with 6,65 m height ovens, gun type of heating gas supply and adjustment was commissioned on 07.05.2007; |
| | reconstruction of coke oven battery with the capacity of 750 thous. tons of coke per year with increasing the carbonization chamber width upto 480 mm with the thickness of wall brick reduced to 90 mm was commissioned on 20.12.2005. |
The engineering achievement of institute is the creation of Coke Dry Quenching Plants (CDQP).
   The implementation of coke dry quenching technology allows:
| | to improve the physical and chemical and strength parameters of coke quality; |
| | to utilize the heat of red-hot coke with receiving of high power parameters steam and further conversion of it to the electrity; |
| | to improve the environmental and sanitary characteristics of plant and labour conditions of service personnel. |
| | to reduce consumption of the coke in blast furnaces; |
| | to expand the raw materials source for coking. |

In the CIS countries 23 CDQ plants were constructed, and in the foreign countries – 11 CDQ plants.
Technical achievements of Giprokoks a lot of times were represented at the exhibitions of national economy. The institute was rewarded with diplomas, and its specialists - with medals.
Developments on coke oven batteries and coke dry quenching plants were demonstrated at the foreign exhibitions and trade fairs in Italy, Austria, England, Sweden, Poland, Australia, Turkey, Germany, Czechia, USA.
Giprokoks cooperates with scientific-research and design agencies of Ukraine and Russia, has the cooperation agreements with lots of companies in Italy, Germany, India, Poland, Finland, China, Czechia.
